The Chief Executive Officer of ETS Africa Excellence Company cum Publisher of the Africa Excellence Magazine, Pa Nkemngu Martin Awung, has lost his eldest son, 52-year-old Nkemngu Stephen. Stephen passed on at the Buea Regional Hospital at about 01:30 a.m. on Monday, November 4, 2024, barely hours after he was admitted Sunday 3 p.m. following a health crisis.ย Stephen’s demise comes on the heels of the transition of the CEO’s younger sister, Mama Nkengafac Anastasia Nkemngong aka Ndoh’nas, who succumbed to her illness at the Mount Mary Hospital in Buea just a month ago. Mama Anastasia’s corpse is currently at the Mount Mary Hospital Mortuary in Buea, while Stephen’s is at the Buea Regional Hospital Mortuary.
Mama Anastasia’s funeral rites are scheduled to run from November 22-24, 2024 in Buea, as outlined in the programme below, while Stephen’s are tentatively billed to begin December 11, also in Buea.
To recall, Stephen did seven years of tertiary education studies in Germany to become an electrical engineer, after which he worked with Siemens before returning to Cameroon. The discrete Stephen who accorded himself a unique value system, established his businesses in Kumba and Buea, but would later take refuge in Yaounde as the Anglophone armed conflict escalated. He had done his secondary and high school studies in Sacred Heart Mankon – Bamenda where he obtained the early GCE A’ and O’Level certificates respectively. He leaves behind a daughter and was not married.
On behalf of Africa Excellence Magazine Editorial Board, the Editor-in-chief, Mwalimu McMua, sends his deepest sympathies to the entire Nkemngu’s family for whom the Year 2024 has been rather charged with misfortunes, and prays this enormous burden of theirs be soon assuaged.
