After the overthrow of President Mohamed Bazoum of Niger, the coup leaders demanded the departure of all French troops from their country.
The army Generals organized a blockade of the bases where the French soldiers were stationed thereby gradually depriving them of food, water, electricity and fuel.
The military regime had announced on Monday evening on national television, TÊlÊ Sahel, that the operations for the departure will begin today, Tuesday October 10, under the escort of the Nigerien army.
