The main opposition party in Cameroon, the Social Democratic Front, held an Ordinary Elective Congress in Yaounde on October 28 2023 to vote a successor to its late Chair, Ni John Fru Ndi.
Joshua Osih emerged winner with 985 votes. The other two candidates who contested for the position were Shewal Jestel, Coordinator for Donga Mantung(23.2% votes) and Godden Zama, Limbe District Chairperson (13.9% votes)
The election of a new chair heralds a new chapter for the main opposition party. The new Chairperson shall be expected to continue the legacy of his predecessor. Honourable Joshua Osih has promised to positively impact the lives of Cameroonians.

You can trust me, we will get to where we have to go, we will win those councils, parliamentary seats, regional councils to make sure that after that we win that presidential seat to govern this country and take Cameroonians out of poverty, suffering, underdevelopment and for the good of all of us.. “
Joshua Osih was born on December 9 2023. He was the first Vice President of the main opposition party and first Anglophone to serve as parliamentarian in Douala, capital of the Littoral region. He has more than 25 years of experience in the aviation industry
