The objective of the convention is to promote the Cameroon tourist destinations, before, during and after the major sport jamboree, which will be taking place on Cameroonian soil.

In other words, the Ministry and CRTV are highly expected to join forces and produce programs that promote every aspect of Cameroonian tourism- be it the hotels, the country’s touristic sites, the cultural genres of the country including the Cameroonian cuisine.

Speaking during the ceremony, the Minister of State in charge of Tourism and Leisure, Bello Bouba Maigari, said it is President of the Republic, Paul Biya who okayed the signing of the partnership with CRTV, following the approval of the strategic plan for the promotion of tourism for the upcoming AFCON.

The Minister of State said the large audience/viewership that CRTV attracts and its technical capacity to produce and broadcast valuable programs is an asset to valorize the four cultural areas of Cameroon, as well as Cameroon tourist destinations, especially as CRTV is the official broadcaster for the upcoming AFCON

Concretely, both parties will have to co-produce and broadcast in English and French content for public view composed of 20 mini series of documentary of six minutes as publicity, documentary of 13 and 30 minutes on ecotourism while describing in an equal and fair manner the rich touristic potentials of four socio-cultural areas of Cameroon; the partners will focus on the different forms and practices in each area.

It is expected that the results obtained f rom this partnership will improve and increase the interest of Cameroonians in touristic culture and also boost the country’s image nationally and internationally.
