Militants of the ruling party, Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) in Fako 1A turned out in force on the 24th of March 2026, using the party’s 41st anniversary as a rallying point to issue a call for unity, a consolidation of party structures, and a decisive push toward the upcoming electoral contests.
The celebration, held at the party secretariat in the Limbe 1 subdivision, served as a high-octane show of force under the banner of consolidating strength behind the party’s national president. The event drew a full house of party officials, administrative authorities, traditional rulers, and the rank-and-file.
Taking center stage, Minister of Secondary Education and head of the Fako permanent divisional delegation, Professor Nalova Lyonga, delivered a blunt message, trumpeting the need for peace while drawing a hard line in the sand. She declared Fako a no-go zone for the opposition, framing the division’s faithful as heirs to a legacy of political wisdom and charging militants to circle the wagons and celebrate as a united front.
Echoing the call for steadfastness, Interim Section President Ludwig Makaka Williams showered praise on the party’s national president, lauding what he termed a visionary four-decade reign that has anchored national stability. He sounded the charge for vigilance, urging the grassroots to gear up for the ultimate ballot-box blitz in the forthcoming legislative and municipal elections, stressing that mass mobilization is the only path to victory.
The gathering also served as a platform for reaffirming unwavering loyalty to the party’s leadership, with speakers doubling down on the core tenets of unity, peace, justice, and progress.
Beating the war drums at the sub-section level, Central II President Kombe Gardidien Eko turned the spotlight on the youth vote, urging militants to seize the moment by locking in new voters. He threw down the gauntlet, vowing to rise to the occasion and secure a landslide win for the party.
Beyond the fiery rhetoric, the anniversary highlighted recent political milestones, trumpeting the party’s recent political coup with the re-election of Honourable Etombi Gladys as Vice President of the CPDM Parliamentary Group.
As the dust settled on the anniversary, the message from Fako was clear: the party is pulling out all the stops for a grassroots ground game, focusing on inclusive participation and shoring up its structures ahead of the looming electoral showdown.
