The Minister of Secondary Education, Pauline Nalova Lyonga, on May 8 combined academic assessment and digital education promotion during a working visit to Limbe.
The minister officially launched the practical phase of the 2026 end-of-year Sports and Physical Education examinations at Government Bilingual Technical High School Isokolo and Government Bilingual High School Limbe.
The exercise concerns candidates in the Francophone general and technical education systems, where Sports and Physical Education forms part of national examinations.
At GBTHS Isokolo, CAP candidates took part in activities including sprint races, high jump, shot put and gymnastics under the supervision of examination officials. Prof. Nalova observed the different sessions before continuing to GBHS Limbe for a similar exercise.
At the GBHS Limbe examination centre, 238 candidates were evaluated in the same sporting disciplines. The minister encouraged students to remain focused and disciplined throughout the examination period.
Beyond the examinations, the visit also highlighted the government’s push for technology-driven learning. Prof. Nalova toured the distance-learning section at GBHS Limbe, where computer science students were attending lessons.
She later concluded the visit at Government High School Limbe with the inauguration of a new digital learning space known as the Intelligence Room, aimed at strengthening modern teaching and remote learning opportunities for students.
