Standard Bilingual Higher Institute for Business Studies
An association of great accountants has created a prestigious and unique business school in Buea called Standard Bilingual Higher Institute for Business Studies (SBHIBS). This institute aims at covering the whole of Africa.
SBHIBS, located in Molyko-Buea opposite EL Palacio, is the brainchild of a ACN & CO Chattered Accountants.
ACN & CO Chattered Accountants is a company that solves business problems, youth unemployment and provides IT solutions to companies.
SBHIBS was launched, Saturday 15th October 2022, at St Claire Hotel, Buea – Cameroon.
The launching was chaired by the institute’s promoter, Awungia Christopher in the presence of its Supervising Director, Simo Kelly and the Dean of Studies, Ekema Brown.
Awungia Christopher, who doubles as the Managing Director of ACN & CO, is a chartered accountant, chattered transport administrator, chattered tax expert, and he has worked with Standard Chattered Bank and Citi Bank Cameroon as a senior executive banker.
The mission of SBHIBS is to create a university institution that will not train unemployed graduates. Its vision is to facilitate, transform, and accompany youths to their dream careers.
SBHIBS is unique in that, it does not train people and throw out there to search for jobs for themselves. It will train students, guide them and accompany them to their dream carriers. They will provide students with the practical experience they need for the job market.
SBHIBS runs three main schools: School of business, Professional School and the Chattered Certified Programs. These schools will provide young graduates with the ability not only to obtain academic degrees but also practical experience indispensable by companies and firms around the globe.
According to the promoter, SBHIBS will be dealing only with managerial sciences for now. They have experts who will train students from any academic background with advanced level certificate.
This school will train business people, entrepreneurs and corporate executives who will take full advantage of the numerous opportunities in Africa in particular and the world at large.
SBHIBS officials with their years of experience have analysed the job market and the academic structures before creating this institute, which will provide students with HND, BSc. and international certification in any managerial science fields of their choice within 4 years instead of 6 – 7years. They will mould students to become experts in their respective fields at a relatively moderate school fee.
The Supervisory Director urged parents and guardians to send their children to SBHIBS to benefit from a four-year transformation.
Nkafu Njam, CEO Greenleaf Investment Management LTD speaking to the press shortly after the event said that the creation of the institute is a much needed project in Cameroon and is an added value to what already exist.
Dr.Michael Nguatem, senior lecturer of development studies, University Flu Western Café, South Africa was confident that SBHIBS in Cameroon is a very interesting model, not common nowadays -where it is not the formal education of somebody to get a degree but it is more of a practical university where you get into the job market with practical experience.
