Sylvia Bongo Odimba, wife of the deposed president of Gabon was charged on September 28 with money laundering, forgery and falsification of records.
The Franco-Gabonese has been under house arrest in Gabon’s capital, Libreville, since the 30th of August 2023.This comes after a coup d’รtat that brought an end to the 56-year-long rule of the Bongo Family over Gabon.
Her French Lawyer, Francois Zimeray while confirming the news denounced what he termed as an “illegal” and “arbitrary” procedure.
