Key stakeholders have opened talks at the Ministry of Trade to fast-track the transfer of majority ownership of Chococam.

Meeting held on Monday, April 20, 2026, brought together Cameroon’s Minister of Trade, Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, alongside Mandla Langa, executives from Tiger Brands Limited, and businessman Fabrice Ndjodo of Minkama Capital.

Discussions centered on the planned handover of a controlling stake in Chocolaterie Confiserie Camerounaise (Chococam), as Tiger Brands prepares to cede its majority shares to Minkama Capital.

Deal, unveiled on November 10, 2025, involves the sale of a 74.69% stake, marking the South African group’s gradual exit after 17 years in the Cameroonian market.

Tenure of Tiger Brands has been associated with growth in the chocolate industry, job creation, and strengthening of the cocoa value chain.
Move signals a shift toward local control, with Fabrice Ndjodo expected to take the driver’s seat in the company’s future direction.

Completion of the transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals, notably from the CEMAC Competition Commission, as well as foreign exchange and tax clearances.

Authorities insist the process must comply fully with existing regulations while maintaining business continuity.
Both sides maintain that the transition will protect existing gains and position Chococam for sustained growth under African ownership.
