Cameroonian Heavyweight Francis Ngannou may have returned to MMA for only one night, but his victory has already produced talks about several blockbuster fights.
The former UFC heavyweight champion knocked out Brazilian fighter Philipe Lins in the first round on Saturday at the Intuit Dome in California. Ngannou stayed calm during the early exchanges before landing a left hand that ended the fight late in the round.
After the contest, Ngannou openly spoke about a possible clash with American MMA legend Jon Jones, a fight fans have wanted for years. Jones, who was present at the event, also showed interest, although contract issues with the UFC could make negotiations difficult.
Ngannou has remained one of the biggest names in combat sports despite spending recent years in boxing, where he faced Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. His latest MMA win now puts him back at the center of attention and could lead to some of the biggest fights in heavyweight combat sports.
